The Gallery at Flashpoint and the Coors Dance Studio

A CREATIVE LABORATORY FOR DC'S ARTS INDUSTRY

Flashpoint is a dynamic arts space dedicated to nurturing and growing emerging artists and cultural organizations. From essential management services to innovative performances and exhibitions, Flashpoint offers exciting opportunities to experience DC's arts in action.

Flashpoint is located at 916 G Street, NW, a half block from the Gallery Place Metro station. Flashpoint provides services and training for cultural organizations to help strengthen their management capacity and offers exhibition and performance spaces, enabling arts groups to focus on their artistic goals and expand their visibility.

Flashpoint includes:

a contemporary art gallery;
a 75 seat theatre lab;
a dance studio;
office space and workstations;
shared office equipment and meeting space; and
a wide range of specialized management services.

All Flashpoint spaces are available to area arts organizations and businesses at affordable rates with emphasis on inclusion and diversity among activities. In a typical week, a dramatic reading in the theatre lab, a rehearsal for a modern dance piece in the dance studio and installations in the gallery enliven Flashpoint's spaces, defining it as a true creative laboratory. These exciting lineups of events attract diverse audiences, including students from the area's many schools and universities, downtown professionals and arts patrons throughout the region.

Join the Red Circle to be a part of the creative network at Flashpoint.

Flashpoint is a project of the Cultural Development Corporation (CuDC). CuDC works to develop self-sufficient, affordable spaces for the city's artists and cultural organizations. As part of the Mather Studios complex — which includes 12 artist residences, CuDC’s first artist housing project — Flashpoint is a vibrant environment that inspires and engages cultural groups, artists and area audiences alike.
