August 4 – 31, 2007 Earth on Stone on Earth is Naturally So, gathers poets, filmmakers and artists from across the country to create a bewitching meditation on the human relationship with nature. Amid a sea of lush sod, an installation of planted containers explores the types of plants used in and the functionality of sustainable, planted roofs. On the wall of the gallery are photographs documenting the interment of 10 poets paired with the poets’ musings on being buried alive and filmed explorations of humans in the nocturnal natural setting by video artist Evan Wells. Sonic interpretations of the diurnal cycle by James Blackshaw, Citay and Scott Wells complete the atmosphere in the gallery.
