June 30 – July 28, 2007 Trace Evidence showcased Valerie Huhn’s fingerprints on large sheets of paper, in books and as wax-dipped sculptures. Responding to a police chase in her neighborhood in 1998, Huhn obsessively documents her fingerprints using a variety of colors. The abstract patterns and colors in Trace Evidence are at once inviting and disconcerting. Huhn traces her own obsessive repetition and explore the meaning and permanence of identity.
