Cory Oberndorfer’s paintings combine the visual language of graphic design with the subculture of flat track roller derby. Oberndorfer elevates roller derby players to iconic status with bright colors and simplified, stripped-down forms. Although these paintings have the look of mass production and silkscreen, they are actually meticulously hand-painted.
