April 25 – June 6, 2009
Trevor Young returns to Flashpoint with Non-Places, curated by Annie Adjchavanich. Young’s exhibition of both large and intimately small paintings highlights “non-places”—spaces that are at once, alienating and repetitive and comforting and familiar, such as airports, fast food restaurants and hotels. The artist transforms the gallery space into a non-place, allowing the viewer to immerse his or herself in the memories of these “beautiful, depressing places.”
