Our sixth season was dedicated to showcasing and supporting artistic talent in the DC area and beyond and featured two artists, Trevor Young and Ami Martin Wilber, who were part of the gallery’s inaugural 2003 – 2004 season.
The season also brought artists focused on different communities
within the DC area, from Cory Oberndorfer’s fascinating look at the subculture of roller derby and Tewodross
Melchishua’s compilation of hip hop artists to DCist Exposed, a community-based exhibition of professional and
amateur photographers.
The exhibitions were selected and mentored by an advisory panel of eminent art professionals in the DC
area, including Chan Chao, Artist; Peter Dubeau, Associate Dean of Continuing Studies, Maryland Institute
College of Art (MICA); Brandon Fortune, Curator, Department of Painting and Sculpture, National Portrait
Gallery; Kristen Hileman, Assistant Curator, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden; and Philippa Hughes,
Collector & Founder/Director, The Pink Line Project.
